Suki no bachiatari

The sun shone through the windows of the unseemingly occupied house. A starling squacked its dis pleasure at the sight of the sun; night was more its cup of tea.


A young girl sat on her bed, her head buried in a book. But she was no ordinary girl; she was what you would call a Happiness Fairy. The jobs of these fairies were to travel to Earth and find someone who is lonely or depressed. From then on, they introduce themselves to their new client and live in the person's home. They must stay there until either the fairy's job is accomplished and they cannot make the person's live any better, or the person dismisses the fairy of their position.


Karuri, as the bunny fairy girl was named at the time of her birth, glanced up from her book. It was a romance novel, a Harlequin romance novel to be exact, and she heaved a great sigh. In her world, fairy and human love was forbidden. Her clan wished to keep their bloodlines as pure as possible to achieve the greatest offspring possible.


"Karuri! It's time to go!" a woman's voice called from downstairs. Her voice echo through Karuri's room and didn't seem to go away. Fairy magic was dangerous stuff, especially to airheads like the woman's daughter.


"I'm comin', I'm comin'!" Karuri shouted. Great, she thought, Mom just can't WAIT to kick me out of the house. I should've known...


She ran downstairs and picked up her suitcase. It wasn't very heavy at all; floating charms were used to help distribute the load.


"Bye, Mom!" Karuri said quickly. "Bye, dear!" her mother said before Karuri walked out the door and began to float to the planet known as Earth.
